WII Veteran receives proper grave marker

Tech. Sgt. Richard Herron, the base historian and an Airman assigned to the 162nd Operations Group, presents the new headstone for Lt. Richard Christman, a pilot assigned to the 162nd Fighter Squadron in 1948, September 4, 2020 at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. On September 4, 1948, Christman was flying a routine navigational training mission above Dayton, Ohio when his F-51’s left wing broke off of the aircraft at several thousand feet in the air.
