Lt. Col. Justin J. Chapman, the incoming 178th Mission Support Group commander, assumed his new leadership position during a change of command ceremony at the Springfield Air National Guard Base in Ohio, Jan. 7.

Lt. Col. Kimberly A. Fitzgerald, the outgoing 178th MSG commander, relinquished control to Chapman during January’s regular scheduled drill. Fitzgerald handed over the guidon to Chapman, and accepted her new position as the 178th Wing vice commander.

Following the official change of command, Chapman reflected on the priorities of the 178th Wing commander and how they relate to his leadership.

“Our wing commander has given us a very clear and concise road map to follow,” said Chapman. “My pledge to all of you is that I will do everything within my power to provide you the support and resources to do all things right, and do all things well.”
