With the tax deadline quickly approaching, there are many resources available to Airmen to make filing taxes hassle-free.

Military OneSource is a free resource available to Airmen and their families. Military OneSource offers free tax consultations, online filing, and assistance in learning about special tax considerations and exemptions.

Members are able to plan and file their taxes online or receive in-person tax assistance through Military OneSource’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Through the program, members can also receive guidance on filing their federal and up to three state tax returns.

Members can call trained tax specialists who are available seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. EST from January to April 17th. The tax specialists can aid members with tax requirements, maximizing deductions, special tax considerations and assist with completing forms.

Military OneSource also provides Airmen with articles to aid members in maximizing their returns, budgeting tips, and information for filing taxes while deployed.

For more information, Airmen can visit Military OneSource’s website at http://www.militaryonesource.mil/, or to reach a tax specialist, members can call 1-800-342-9647.
