Airmen from the 178th Fighter Wing currently deployed to Hungary in support of the Load Diffuser Exercise 2010, participated in a "Culture Day" arranged by the Hungarian Air Force 59th Air Base on May 1.

The day-long tour included stops in Budapest, Hungary and Kiskunsag National Park, near the City of Kecskemet, Hungary.

"Every corner you turn, there's something new and interesting to see," said Master Sgt. Michael Johnson a metals technology machinist with the 178FW.

For Sergeant Johnson, the highlight of the day was, "Talking to our Hungarian escorts, finding out more about the culture, and actually being immersed in their (Hungarian) food and customs."

The Guardsmen had the opportunity to visit the city of Budapest, tour the Museum of Military History there, and travel to the Kiskunsag National park for a horse show.
The horse show featured authentic Hungarian cowboys, or csikos and was followed by a traditional Hungarian feast.

The day gave the 178th Airmen a chance to experience Hungarian culture.

The LD2010 exercise is scheduled for April 22 - May 7.
