The 178th Fighter Wing Retention Office held a career fair April 9 and 10 at the Yoxford Inn here.

The career fair was open to Guardsmen from the 178 FW; Springfield Air National Guard Base tenant units, the 269th Combat Communications Squadron and 251st Combat Communications Group; and the 123rd Airlift Wing, Blue Ash, Ohio.

"I hope people will see there are all types of opportunities out there," said Master Sgt. Amanda Conaway, the 178th Retention Office manager.

Representatives from area colleges, the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Education Office, AMVETS, Department of Job and Family Services and Army National Guard were present.

Staff Sgt. Oliver Thompson, a member of the 269 CCS, said that he was at the career fair looking into programs to obtain a Master of Business Administration.
"I got a lot of good information," said Sergeant Thompson.

Sergeant Conaway wanted servicemembers to be aware of what options are available with all of the changes occurring on base, said Sergeant Conaway.

The career fair consisted of informational booths and briefings from participating organizations.

The 178FW Retention Office plans to hold a job fair in May or June.
