SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives John Boehner visited Springfield Air National Guard Base, March 20, to tour the base and speak with Airmen.

Interim Adjutant General of the Ohio National Guard Maj. Gen. Mark Bartman, 178th Wing Commander Col. Gregory Schnulo and Command Chief Master Sgt. Ottis LeMaster guided Boehner throughout the tour.

Schnulo and other key Airmen briefed Boehner on the base's missions while they toured two facilities and gave the speaker insight on the Operations Group and cyber missions.

Boehner later took time to speak with Airmen in an open forum and answered questions on a wide variety of topics from policies to sports.

"He was very down to earth and he was a well-spoken individual," said Master Sgt. Tabatha King, a member of the 178th Communications Flight.

Boehner represents Ohio's 8th district, where the 178th is located.

"We are honored to have the Speaker of the House visit our base," said Schnulo. "It was great to show him some our unique capabilities."
